The Death of Innocence, written by the Ramseys (or whoever wrote it) is a cleverly devised ruse to trick you into believing it's only a question of finding the intruder in order to finally clear them of murder, i.e. intruder vs. inside job, while the totality of evidence shows we're dealing with murder and a cover up.
Staging, involving the ransom note, makes no sense if the murder was an intruder. It serves no purpose. In a cover up scenario, the only purpose of a ransom note that makes sense is to justify the disappearance of the body.

The disappearance of Jonbenet would allow the Ramseys to control the time and place of her body to be found. That is if she ever was to be found. Also, "Intruder DNA" could be placed on her prior to her discovery. It wouldn't surprise me if John Ramsey's purpose of entering the basement after the 911 call and arrival of detectives was an attempt to plant foreign DNA.
The main reason John and Patsy Ramsey have managed to evade charges is due to Team Ramsey's successful PR campaign to promote a false dichotomy: either an intruder killed Jonbenet or one of the Ramseys did it, hence when an intruder is found and convicted, the Ramseys are cleared of suspicion.
This is false for the reason that we're dealing with two separate crimes. First, the murder of Jonbenet, whether it was an intruder or an inside job. Second, the cover-up of the murder, or even conspiracy to cover up murder, staged as an obduction gone wrong.
We might even be dealing with a third crime if Jonbenet's head trauma resulted from an accident: failure to render assistance to an injured child!
Evidence of how well this ruse worked was when Boulder DA, Mary Lacy, "exonerated" the Ramseys based on foreign DNA found on Jonbenet. The sheer incompetence of this DA can be enjoyed in the video linked in this footnote1. Even Steve Thomas of the BPD was misdirected by this ruse when he overplayed his hand, claiming that Patsy killed Jonbenet.
So far, everywhere I look, I see at least one of the Ramseys implicated in the cover-up. Don't get fooled by the Ramsey intruder DNA nonsense!
