The Look-a-LikesOne of the strangest occurrences before and after the assassination, was the sightings of "other" Oswalds. Beginning around Nov 06 th, there was a man, or men, seen around the Dallas area that look like Lee. These instances went on up to Nov. 22nd. Some made an obvious "scene" perhaps to be remembered afterwards. This must be considered in the death of Officer Tippit and a man that looked like "Lee Oswald" Timing of the Officer's shooting, and an earlier time Lee was seen in the Texas Theater are conflicting. Then the possibility exists, Lee was brought earlier to the isolation of a theater, while an imposter was walking around Oak Cliff. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Lee Oswald began work at TSBD on Oct 16, 1963, he was there everyday until Nov.22nd. He did not miss a day's work. His hours required were Mon - Fri., from 8am until 4;45p, with a 45 minute lunch from 12 Noon until 12:45p. It was a seasonal job while the warehouse was busy in the fall months for the new school year, it would eventually wane by Christmas. Tom Sorenson did an excellent job with some of the documentation of Lee being hired in, "Oswald's first day at the TSBD."While Lee did not drive, on more than 4 separate occasions, a man in a furniture store, a car dealership, a shooting range, and a hitchhiker, are all seen in the weeks preceeding the assassination, and each time, look like Lee Oswald, and say things that cause the witness to report these instances to the authorities after the shooting. Most are documented by the FBI, all are dismissed by the Warren Commission.

Nov. 06, 1963 Furniture Mart / Dallas TX Edith Whitworth worked at a used furniture store known as the Furniture Mart. It had previously housed a gun shop, and in early November 1963 there was still a sign out front advertising gun repair. In an interview with FBI agents, Whitworth said that around November 6 to 8, a man came into her shop inquiring about gun repair. She later recognized this man from TV pictures as Lee Oswald. She advised him that there was no longer a gun repair shop in her building, and directed him to a nearby gun shop. The FBI report goes on to say that Whitworth stated that “Oswald inquired as to both a living room and dining room set, stating that he would need both in the near future. "While Oswald was in the store, his wife, carrying a small baby and leading a small girl, came in and observed Oswald’s activities but never made any statement or said anything. . . . On leaving the Furniture Mart . . . the Oswalds made a U-turn and left driving against the traffic on East Irving Boulevard in the direction of the gun repair shop in either a 1956 or 1957 two-tone blue and white Ford or Plymouth.” (CD205, p. 65)Gertrude Hunter was in the Furniture Mart with Edith Whitworth at the time the Oswalds came into the store. She testified that a man drove up in front of the store, came in, and asked for a gunsmith. She said the car was a two-tone blue Ford, probably a 1957 or 1958. She is specific about the car because a friend of hers has a similar Ford. At some point during this visit, the man went out of the store and came back in with the woman and the two children. (WCHE, v. 11, p. 255) Hunter stated that the wife did not say anything while in the store, nor did she show the baby to the two women. (WCHE, v. 11, p. 256) After the couple left the store, Hunter saw them get into the car, and start to drive the wrong way on the one-way street. She corrected them and told them to go the other way. (WCHE, v. 11, p. 258) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ A Special Deposition SessionWesley Liebeler arranged for Whitworth to meet Marina Oswald, along with her daughter June. Whitworth noticed a resemblance to the woman who was in her store in November 1963, but said, “She doesn’t look like she does today, because her face was fuller then and it might have been because she just had this baby then and still hadn’t gone back like she was . . . But this little girl –it definitely was her.” Marina denied ever having been in the store. (WCHE, v. 11, p. 277) and denied ever seeing Lee drive a car. (WCHE, v. 11, p. 280) When several photos were shown to Hunter, she could not identify any of them as definitely being the man who came into the store, but she said that Garner Exhibit 1 (a photo of Oswald passing out leaflets) could be him. Pizzo Exhibit 453-C (also Oswald, after his arrest) “could look like him some, but he was not dressed that way.” (WCHE, v. 11, p. 262) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Commission determined these witnesses must have been mistaken. Lee Harvey Oswald does NOT drive a car. Wednesday was the 6th, Friday was the 8th. Lee was at work.

Nov. 09, 1963 Downtown Lincoln-MercuryIn Nov. 1963, Albert Guy Bogard, was a car salesman at a the downtown Lincoln-Mercury Dealership on Commerce St. in Dallas. On December 09 th he told the FBI, that about one month earlier, a young man came into the showroom and said he wanted to buy a car. This was Saturday, November 9 th, about 3 weeks before the assassination, some time between 3-4pm. Bogard introduced himself, and asked the man's name 2x before he told him it was Lee Oswald. After showing the cars in the showroom, the two men went outside, Bogard said this was when the man gave his name. He seemed interested in a red Comet hardtop, and when asked if he had a trade-in the man said no. Bogard asked him about a down payment, the man said he had some money coming in a few weeks, and would pay cash for the car. Next the salesman took a similar car from the lot and asked the man if he would like to drive it. He said yes. The FBI document describes the trip the two men took, to the Stemmons Freeway, and opened it up at speeds of 75-85 mph. When they got back to the dealership, Bogard asked him to fill out some paperwork, but the man said no. He asked two more times for the man's address or phone number but the man refused. He gave the man his card. Bogard then wrote the name Lee Oswald on the back of one of his own cards and put it in his pocket. After the president was assassinated, he mentioned the card to other workers whom said, "He ain't a prospect anymore" He threw the card in the garbage. Nov. 23 rd, began the many visits by the FBI and identifying the man as Lee Harvey Oswald. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Whitewash | Harold Weisberg"This is corroborated by the assistant sales manager and a second salesman who recall the customer described by Bogard. Another salesman recalls Bogard asked him to assist the customer should he return in Bogard's absence. The salesman and his wife recall him having also written the name Oswald on the card."
"One of these witnesses quoted the customer as saying,"Maybe I'm going to have to go back to Russia to by a car". If this remark was in fact made, surely would have remained in the salesman's mind, and was intended to."++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Warren Commission concluded, Bogard must have been mistaken, Lee Harvey Oswald does NOT drive a car.

Nov. 09, 10, & 11, 1963 Sports Dome Gun Range
Garland Slack was a retired heating contractor living in Dallas in Nov. 1963 Sports Dome was a rifle range on W. Davis St. in Dallas, there was also a location in nearby Grand Praire TX. Black personally knew the manager in Dallas, and visited often. These sightings occurred on Nov 9th, 10th and 17th.
On the 9th, (the same day as the car dealer), the man was there from 3:30pm until about 7pm On the 10th, he was there from about 2pm until about 5pm, and on the 11th, he was there from noon until about 8pm
On Dec 2, 1963, Garland contacted the FBI to tell them about the encounters he had in the weeks preceding the assassination. He told the FBI that on Nov. 10th this man was accompanied by another much taller man, about 6ft, with big feet, dark hair in a beatnik style, a dark completion and a beard. The men drove up in an old "jalopy", and unloaded three guns between them. The military type rifles all seem to be of a similar make.
They were using ammo from a cup about half full. The shorter man was same one he had seen the day before. He identified him as the man arrested for the assassination of President Kennedy. The man never gave his name. He said the gun the man used was like the one he had seen described in the newspaper. It had a 4x4 scope. Also during the incident on the 10th, The man seem to be firing in rapid succession of 3 shot spurts Slack became upset when the man had shot at his target.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Whitwash | Harold Weisberg
"Interestingly the report manages to avoid identification of this strange man's rifle.
There are four witnesses in substantial agreement and confident "that the man they saw was Oswald..." Two others "...believed they saw a person resembling Oswald firing a similar rifle at another range near Irving two days before the assassination...."
Still others "...at the same range remembered the same individual but, though noting similarity to Oswald did not believe that the man was Oswald.." Three of the witnesses believed "...the man they saw fired a rifle perhaps identical to Oswald's Mannlicher Carcano..." The witnesses agree the man had accurate aim
Once again the Report concludes this person could not have been Oswald. And that is exactly the point the Report avoids, was this "a False Oswald"?"
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Robert Oswald | WC Testimony
"…in a Dallas paper it referred to an incident at a Grand Prairie Rifle Range where some people had identified Lee as being at this rifle range, and that on one occasion a man, and the description was given in the newspaper, had handed Lee Harvey Oswald a rifle over this fence where he was standing inside the rifle range. As I read this description in the newspaper, I reached the conclusion from that description that it was Mr. Paine."
—————————————————— Robert is describing an incident that occurred at the Grand Prairie location. He doesn't describe what Garland Slack saw. He read this in the paper. Notice the Commission's attempt to half the truth, by only asking Paine, "..are you familiar with...?" And Michael's turn around, "I think I know about where it is. No, I don’t even know..." There is no clarification or further investigation in the record on which location these men were seen.
There is no FBI showing a picture of Paine to Garland Slack, or anybody that may have seen Lee at either range location. If Lee Oswald didn't drive a car, how did he get out to a shooting range in Grand Prairie? The solution for this was constant, have Paine sign an affidavit, and just ask him.
Michael Paine
Mr. LIEBELER – Are you familiar with the Sports Dome Rifle Range in Grand Prairie, Tex? Mr. PAINE – I think I know about where it is. No, I don’t even know where it is. I know the race track is there.
Mr. LIEBELER – Have you ever been there? Mr. PAINE – No.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
The Commission determined that both Robert and multiple other witnesses must have been mistaken. Michael Paine was not with Lee, and Lee Oswald does NOT drive a car.

Nov. 20, 1963
Hitch-hiker pick up Ralph Yates was a refrigerator serviceman with the Texas Butcher Supply Company. On November 26, 1963, just 4 days after the assassination, he told the FBI that a couple of days before the assassination, probably Wednesday, November 20, he picked up a hitchhiker near the Beckley Street entrance to the expressway. “Yates said after seeing photographs and television pictures of Lee Harvey Oswald, he is of the opinion that this man was identical with Oswald. He told the agents that when the hitchhiker walked up to get into the pickup truck, he was carrying a package wrapped in brown wrapping paper about 4 feet to 4-1/ 2 feet long.
Yates said he told this man he could put the package in the back of the truck, but the man said that the package contained curtain rods and he would carry it with him in the cab of the truck. Yates brought up the fact that the President would be in town soon. (CD5, p. 417) “Yates stated the man then asked Yates if he thought a person could assassinate the President. Yates replied that he guessed such a thing could be possible. The man then asked Yates if it could be done from the top of a building or out of a window, high up, and Yates said he guessed this was possible if one had a good rifle with a scope and was a good shot.
Yates advised about this time the man pulled out a picture which showed a man with a rifle and asked Yates if he thought the President could be killed with a gun like that one. Yates said he was driving and did not look at the picture but indicated to the man that he guessed so." (CD205, p. 45)] "Yates said that the man then asked if he knew the President’s route for the parade in Dallas and Yates replied that he did not know the route but that it had been in the paper. He said the man then said that he had misunderstood him and that actually he had asked Yates if he thought that the President would change his route. Yates said he replied that he doubted it unless they might for safety reasons.” Yates said he dropped the man off downtown at the corner of Elm and Houston Streets." (CD5, p. 418) At a second interview with the FBI on December 10, 1963, Yates stated: “I have been shown a photograph of Lee Harvey Oswald . . . This is a photograph of the man that I picked up and gave a ride to, and had the conversation with as set forth above in this statement.” (CD205, p. 46) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Warren Commission completely ignored this, even though all of the above is spelled out in FBI Commission Documents [CD]. It is not mentioned in the report nor the 26 volumes. But notice the similarities with the official narrative – “curtain rods” –“wrapped in brown paper” and is that another back yard photograph? Lee Oswald was at work.

Dealey Plaza | Nov. 22, 1963The president was assassinated at 12:30 in the afternoon. It is incredible to think the investigation avoided these sightings corroborated by 3 other witnesses. Instead, the Commission relied upon a bus transfer found in Lee's pocket 2 hours after his initial search. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Deputy Roger Craig | Sheriff’s Report (11/23/63)"....About this time I heard a shrill whistle and I turned around and saw a white male running down the hill from the direction of the Texas School Book Depository building and I saw what I think was a light colored Rambler station wagon with a luggage rack on top pull over to the curb and the subject who had come running down the hill got into the car..."
"I reported this incident at once to a secret service officer whose name I do not know, then I left this area and went at once to the building and assisted in the search of the building."
"Later that afternoon, I went to the City Hall and identified the suspect they had in custody as being the same person I saw running down this hill and get into the station wagon and leave the scene."++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Richard Carr | Dealey Plaza Witness“While I was on Houston St. near the Commerce St. intersection I saw a man whom I believe was identical with the man I had earlier seen looking out of the window of the Texas School Book Depository building."
"This man, walking very fast, proceeded on Houston St. south to Commerce St., then east on Commerce St. to Records St. which is one block from Houston St. This man got into a 1961 or 1962 Grey Rambler Station Wagon which was parked just north of Commerce on Records St. The station wagon, which had Texas license and was driven by a young negro man, drove off in a northerly direction."+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Helen Forrest | May 17, 1974Helen Forrest witnessed the same scene Roger Craig did but from the opposite side of the street. Forrest told historian Michael Kurtz she was on the incline by the grassy knoll, when she "saw a man suddenly run from the rear of the Depository building, down the incline, and then enter a Rambler station wagon." Like Roger Craig, Helen Forrest was clear in identifying the running man. "If it wasn't Oswald," she said, "it was his identical twin." [Quoted from: Douglass, James W. - JFK and the Unspeakable]+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Marvin Robinson | FBI Statement (11/23/63) “Robinson stated that after he crossed Houston Street and was in front of the Texas School Book Depository building, a light-colored Nash station wagon suddenly appeared before him.
He stated this vehicle stopped and a white male came down the grass covered inclined between the building and the street and entered the station wagon, after which, it drove away in the direction of the Oak Cliff section of Dallas." ”++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Roy Cooper | FBI Statement (11/23/63) "Cooper observed a white male somewhere between 20 and 30 years of age wave at a Nash Rambler station wagon, light-colored, as it pulled out and was ready to leave from Elm and Houston. This station wagon pulled out real fast front of the Cadillac driven by his boss and his employer had to stop abruptly and nearly hit this Nash Rambler." “If it wasn’t Oswald,” she said, “it was his identical twin.” +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Warren Commission concluded Lee Harvey Oswald took a bus transfer. All of the above witnesses were mistaken about the same thing, Lee Oswald got on this bus.

North Beckley Pick UpMrs. Earlene Roberts (Lee’s landlady) testified that on Friday, November 22, about 1 p.m., Lee entered the house in unusual haste. He hurried to his room and stayed no longer than 3 or 4 minutes. While in his room a Dallas Police car stopped in front of the house with a beep-beep.
Mr. BALL. Did this police car stop directly in front of your house?
Mrs. ROBERTS. Yes–it stopped directly in front of my house and it just “tip-tip” and that’s the way Officer Alexander and Charles Burnely would do when they stopped, and I went to the door and looked and saw it wasn’t their number.
Mr. BALL. Where was Oswald when this happened? Mrs. ROBERTS. In his room.
Mr. BALL. It was after he had come in his room? Mrs. ROBERTS. Yes.
Mr. BALL. And you say that there were two uniformed policemen in the car? Mrs. ROBERTS. Yes, and it was in a black car. It wasn’t an accident squad car at all.
Mr. BALL. Were there two uniformed policemen in the car? Mrs. ROBERTS. Oh, yes.
Mr. BALL. And one of the officers sounded the born ? Mrs. ROBERTS. Just kind of a “tit-tit”–twice.
Lee Oswald left his room. Mrs. Roberts saw him a few seconds later standing near the bus stop in front of the house on the east side of Beckley. She looked again a moment later, he was gone.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ JFK and the Unspeakable Why He Died and Why It Matters by James Douglas
"According to Warren H. “Butch” Burroughs, the concession stand operator at the Texas Theater, Lee Harvey Oswald entered the theater sometime between 1:00 and 1:07 P.M., several minutes before Officer Tippit was slain seven blocks away."
Mr. BALL. Did you see that man come in the theater? Mr. BURROUGHS. No, sir; I didn’t.
Mr. BALL. Do you have any idea what you were doing when he came in?
Mr. BURROUGHS. Well, I was—-I had a lot of stock candy to count and put in the candy case for the coming night, and if he had came around in front of the concession out there, I would have seen him, even though I was bent down, I would have seen him, but otherwise I think he sneaked up the stairs real fast.
"What someone reading this testimony would not know is that Butch Burroughs was unable to see anyone enter the theater from where he was standing at his concession stand, unless that person came into the area where he was working."
"As he explained to me in an interview, there was a partition between his concession stand and the front door. Someone could enter the theater, go directly up a flight of stairs to the balcony, and not be seen from the concession stand."
"That, Burroughs said, is what Oswald apparently did. However, Burroughs still knew Oswald had come into the theater “between 1:00 and 1:07 P.M.” because he saw him inside the theater soon after that. As he told me, he sold popcorn to Oswald at 1:15 P.M. information that the Warren Commission did not solicit from him in his testimony."
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ In a Bowl
If Lee was brought to the theater he wouldn’t hear any news reports or radio broadcasts about what was happening around Oak Cliff. When he bought his popcorn at 1:15p as Burroughs told Larry Harris, in his article “The Other Murder”, Dateline Dallas, 11/22/63, and researcher Jim Marrs, for "Crossfire", that was the same time the Commission concluded Officer Tippit was being shot to death.
Attorney Ball never asked Burroughs anything regarding any direct encounter with this man, and the report went on to conclude that Lee Harvey Oswald was already at 10th & Patton in Oak Cliff.

Nov. 22, 1963 10th & Patton St, Oak CliffWarren Commission Report | Page 165 "At approximately 1:15 p.m., Office JD Tippit, who was cruising east on 10th Street, passed the intersection of 10th and Patton, about eight blocks from where he had reported at 12:54 p.m. About 100 feet past the intersection Tippit stopped a man walking east along the south side of Patton.
"The man’s general description was similar to the one broadcast over the police radio. Tippit stopped the man and called him to his car. He approached the car and apparently exchanged words with Tippit through the right front or vent window.
Tippit got out and started to walk around the front of the car. As Tippit reached the left front wheel the man pulled out a revolver and fired several shots. Four bullets hit Tippit and killed him instantly. The gunman started back toward Patton Avenue, ejecting the empty cartridge cases before reloading with fresh bullets." ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ 3 people were in the immediate area when this happened +9 others saw a man that looked like Lee Harvey Oswald fleeing the scene. Nov. 22, 1963 Texas Theater"Shortly after the Tippit murder, police sirens sounded along Jefferson Boulevard. One of the persons who heard the sirens was Johnny Calvin Brewer, manager of Hardy’s Shoe Store, a few doors east of the Texas Theater. When he heard police sirens, he “looked up and saw the man enter the lobby,” a recessed area extending about 15 feet between the sidewalk and the front door of his store. A police car made a U-turn, and as the sirens grew fainter, the man in the lobby “looked over his shoulder and turned around and walked up West Jefferson towards the theater.” Shortly thereafter, Johnny Brewer, who had come from the nearby shoe store, asked Mrs. Julia Postal whether the fellow that had ducked in had bought a ticket. She said, “No; by golly, he didn’t,” and turned around, but the man was nowhere in sight. Brewer told Mrs. Postal that he had seen the man ducking into his place of business and that he had followed him to the theater. She sent Brewer into the theater to find the man and check the exits, told him about the assassination, and said, “I don’t know if this is the man they want. … but he is running from them for some reason.” She then called the police." [WCR page 178]++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Sittin' in the BalconyThe first reports to the police were that the suspect was in the balcony. John A Callahan was the manager but had left for the day when the man had “ducked in”. So what manager vouched for this suspect? The projectionist remained in the projection room during Oswald’s arrest. Neither Postal, Burroughs, nor the projectionist (the only theater employees on duty) spoke to these officers either in the balcony or on the stairs of the balcony. Someone either identified himself as a theater “manager,” or the officers mistook someone as the theater “manager,” or these officers were lying about speaking to the “manager". Callahan had left the building. It is possible there were 2 "Oswalds" in the theater at the same time, one snuck in upstairs, the real one was downstairs. Lee was brought out the front, the other was brought out the back. No, sir; I was looking up, as I say, when the cars passed, as you know, they make a tremendous noise, and he ducked in as my boss went that way to get in his car. Mr. BALL. Who is your boss? Mrs. POSTAL. Mr. John A. Callahan. Mr. BALL. Where did you say he was? Mrs. POSTAL. Yes; I say, they bypassed each other, actually, the man ducked in this way and my employer went that-a-way, to get in his car. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Crossfire | Jim Marrs"Bernard J Haire owned Bernie’s Hobby House, located two doors East of the Texas theater on West Jefferson. November 22, 1963, Haire was unaware of the assassination but saw the street in front of his business fill up with police cars. "We went outside and saw a crowd gathered at the Texas theater but could not see what was happening."Walking through his store, Haire went to the back alley which he said was also filled with police cars. Walking towards the theater, Haire was opposite the rear door when police brought a young white man out. Although Haire was unable see if the man was handcuffed, certainly was under the impression that the man was under arrest. Haire watched police put the man in a police car and drive off. Lee Harvey Oswald had already been brought out the front of the theater amid a massive crowd."

Nov. 22,1963 Mack Pate’s Garage, Oak CliffThis was about 2:pm while Lee Oswald sat in the Dallas lock up. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ JFK and the Unspeakable Why He Died and Why It Matters by James Douglas"T. F. White was a sixty-year-old, longtime employee of Mack Pate’s Garage in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas. While White worked on an automobile the afternoon of the assassination, he could hear police sirens screaming up and down Davis Street only a block away. He also heard radio reports describing a suspect then thought to be in Oak Cliff. The mechanic looked out the open doors of the garage. He watched as a red 1961 Falcon drove into the parking lot of the EI Chico restaurant across the street. The Falcon parked in an odd position after going a few feet into the lot. The driver remained seated in the car. White said later, “The man in the car appeared to be hiding.” White kept his eye on the man in the Falcon. When Mack Pate returned from his lunch break a few minutes later, T. F. White pointed out to his boss the oddly parked Falcon with its waiting driver who seemed to be hiding. Pate told White to watch the car carefully, reminding him of earlier news reports they had heard about a possible assassination attempt against President Kennedy in Houston the day before involving a red Falcon. T. F. White walked across the street to investigate. He halted about ten to fifteen yards from the car. He could see the driver was wearing a white t-shirt. The man turned toward White and looked at him full face. White stared back at him. Not wanting to provoke a possible assassin, White began a retreat to the garage. However, he paused, took a scrap of paper from his coveralls pocket, and wrote down the Texas license plate of the car: PP 4537. On December 4, 1963, Wes Wise, a Dallas newscaster whose specialty was sports, gave a luncheon talk to the Oak Cliff Exchange Club at EI Chico’s restaurant. At the urging of his listeners, he changed his topic from sports to the president’s assassination, which Wise had covered. At the end of Wise’s talk to his absorbed audience at the Oak Cliff Exchange Club, Mack Pate, who had walked across the street from his garage to listen, gave the newscaster a new lead. He told Wise about his mechanic having seen Oswald. Wise asked to go immediately with Pate to speak with his employee. Convinced of his duty, T. F. White took Wise into EI Chico’s parking lot and walked him step by step through his “full face” encounter with Oswald. Wise realized the car had been parked at the center of Oswald’s activity in Oak Cliff that afternoon: one block from where Oswald got out of the taxi, six blocks south of his rooming house, eight blocks north of his arrest at the Texas Theater, and only five blocks from Tippit’s murder on a route in between. Taking notes on his luncheon invitation, Wise said, “I just wish you had gotten the license number.” “This is it,” he said. FBI agent Charles T. Brown, Jr., reported from an interview with Milton Love, Dallas County Tax Office: “1963 Texas License Plate PP 4537 was issued for a 1957 Plymouth automobile in possession of Carl Amos Mather, 4309 Colgate Street, Garland, Texas.” Agent Brown then drove to that address. He reported that the 1957 Plymouth bearing license plate PP 4537 was parked in the driveway of Mather’s home in Garland, a suburb of Dallas. Thus arose the question of how a license plate for Carl Amos Mather’s Plymouth came to be seen on the Falcon in EI Chico’s parking lot, with a man in it who looked like Oswald. The FBI had also discovered that Carl Amos Mather did high-security communications work for Collins Radio, a major contractor with the Central Intelligence Agency. Three weeks before Kennedy’s assassination, Collins Radio had been identified on the front page of the New York Times as having just deployed a CIA raider ship on an espionage and sabotage mission against Cuba. Collins also held the government contract for installing communications towers in Vietnam. In 1971, Collins Radio would merge with another giant military contractor, Rockwell International. In November 1963, Collins was at the heart of the CIA-military-contracting business for state-of-the-art communications systems. Given the authority of his CIA-linked security clearance, Carl Mather refused to speak to the FBI. The FBI instead questioned his wife, Barbara Mather, who stunned them. Her husband, she said, was a good friend of J. D. Tippit. In fact, the Mathers were such close friends of Tippit and his wife that when J. D. was murdered, Marie Tippit phoned them. The HSCA dismissed the incident as “the Wise allegation, “in which a confused auto mechanic had jotted down a coincidentally connected license plate, as “alleged” by a reporter.
The odds against White having come up with the exact license plate of a CIA-connected friend of J. D. Tippit were too astronomical for comment, and were given none."
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Warren Commission did NOT address any of this ANYWHERE in the 26 volumes. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>
