"In Irving, Texas, Ruth Paine, her friend Marina Oswald, and two neighbors were having a conversation while drinking coffee, and the subject of a job search by Marina's husband, Lee Harvey Oswald, came up. One of the neighbors, Linnie Mae Randle, mentioned that her brother had recently been hired at the Texas School Book Depository and that there might be an opening.
Later in the day, Mrs. Paine telephoned the Depository and set up a job interview. On the same day, Mr. Oswald, using the name "O. H. Lee", rented a room in a house on 1026 North Beckley Avenue in Dallas." [Wikipedia]

"The first pair of "Vela" satellites, designed to detect nuclear bomb detonations on Earth, were launched from Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 9:33 pm. The satellites were placed in an orbit 60,000 miles (97,000 km) above the Earth's surface, in order to verify compliance with the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty that had recently gone into effect. The Vela program would continue until April 8, 1970, when the last of the 12 detection satellites were put into space." [Wikipedia]
